Figurative & Narrative
Figurative & Narrative explores how posture, gesture and shared space tell a story. A seated figure pauses in the light; two people meet in a simple exchange; a walking figure carries movement through an open space. Layered color and painterly surfaces connect these scenes while giving each a distinct pace and point of view.
A Moment Held
A seated figure in deep blue turns toward daylight, with one hand resting on the chair and the other across a thigh. Ochre and cool gray surround the figure, giving the pause a sense of weight and space.
Passed Between
A standing figure offers a patterned bowl to a seated companion. Their opposing gestures create a diagonal across the composition, with rust, ochre and deep green holding the moment of exchange.
In Passing
A figure in a muted plum coat crosses a band of daylight, her stride carrying the eye across the composition. Blue-gray and ochre surfaces frame the movement, while a long shadow gives it direction.
